What is the difference between air force reserve & air national guad?
I want to join the air force reserves but I live 250 miles away from the nearest base so how am I going to manage going to drills every month or how mnay times a year?
What are the key differences? I am going to college and I want to be able to continue my education. How long is trainning for air force and air national guard?
I am going to meet with air force reserve recuiter this month and I wan tto be ready to make a decision..help.
They are basically the same. They are both reserve components of the active duty air force. They go to the same basic training and job training. Basic training is 8 1/2 weeks depending on the job you get job training can be from 6 weeks to 1 year. The key difference is air force reserve only serves the nation while the Air national guard serves your state first then the nation. The guard usually gets a little more benefits because they get all of the federal benefits plus state benefits on top of that.
